SSO Activation and Basic Configuration

To turn on and configure user login with SAML (SSO) in Simulator, do the following:

  1. Open the Identity Providers page in Account.
  2. Verify the email domain that will you will use to log in to Simulator using one or many identity providers (IdPs).
  3. Turn on authentication via IdPs on the Identity Providers page.
  4. On the Identity Providers page, copy the automatically generated Entity Id and Callback URL.
  5. Use the copied Entity Id and Callback URL on the identity provider configuration page to obtain the SAML file.
  6. Insert the SAML file content to the SAML file field on the Settings tab.
  7. Test your connection.
  8. (Optional) Specify the custom session time.
  9. (Optional) Configure granting flexible access permissions and authorizing users on the Mappers tab.
  10. Save changes.

Identity Providers Page

To turn on and configure SSO authentication and authorization, you'll need to open the Identity Providers page. To open the page, go to Account, click on your avatar in the left lower corner, and select My profile:

The Identity Providers page located in Account is only accessible to active paid Simulator license owners. To check your active paid licenses, in the My profile section of Account, open the Licenses & billing page and check your licenses Status and Price.

Domain Verification

Before turning on and configuring user login with SAML, you need to verify an email domain you will use to log into Simulator.

To verify your domain(s):

  1. Contact our Support team by clicking the link on your Identity Providers page.
  2. Provide the domain(s) you want to use for your organization, so the Support team can verify it.

Turning On Login with SAML

With the needed domains verified, you can turn on user authorization using IdPs. To activate SSO, on the Settings tab, turn on the Login with SAML toggle:

Configuring Login with SAML Settings

After turning on the Login with SAML toggle, you can configure the feature on the Settings tab. To configure the Login with SAML:

  1. Copy the automatically generated Entity URL (1) by clicking the copy icon in the field and paste it to the corresponding field on the identity provider’s configuration page.
  2. Copy the automatically generated Callback URL (2) by clicking the copy icon in the field and paste it to the corresponding field on the identity provider’s configuration page.
  3. Paste the SAML file obtained from the identity provider into the SAML file (3) field.
  4. Check your connection by clicking the Test button (4).
  5. (Optional) Specify the custom user session time by switching the toggle (5) and entering the session time in seconds.
  6. (Optional) Configure user authorization and permissions by switching the Mappers toggle (6) and opening the Mappers tab.
  7. Click Save to save the changes and start using the Login with SAML in Simulator.
